Here Are the Winning Entries for Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017

The Natural History Museum in London has announced this year’s winners of its annual Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.

Over 50,000 images submitted by professionals and amateurs alike were narrowed down and judged on their creativity, originality and technical excellence over several categories.

Brent Stirton’s tragic image was the overall winner, while Daniël Nelson’s snap of an endangered Western lowland gorilla relaxing won her the Young Wildlife Photographer of the Year title.

The resulting 100 winners and finalists will be on display at The Natural History Museum from October 20 until May 28. Browse through a selection of the winning images below, and then head here for more snapshots.
